Story of America
http://www.storyofamerica.org There's a bit of controversy about how many people participated in the March on Washington for Gun Control. While the The Washington Post reported "nearly 1000" people took part, other media outlets reported thousands. Molly Smith, the co-organizer of the march, was elated to see this video appear on the web after being disappointed by the Post's reporting.
This video shows that The Washington Post grossly under-reported the crowd yesterday as families from Newtown, CT led a march from the U.S. Capitol to a rally at the Washington Monument.
The Posts's claim of "nearly 1,000 people" leads off an otherwise journalistic article.
Is this a deliberate distortion, or a case of poor journalism? Perhaps a typo that left off a zero? The article is co-written by Kate Havard, who is listed as an editorial associate at The Weekly Standard, which, unlike Fox News, markets itself for what it is — an extremely conservative political commentary journal.
